This Playa Del Rey residence is an open and modern entertainer’s dream. Our clients, a young couple with a dog, needed a home that reflected their personality and functioned for their lifestyle. They enjoy entertaining and wanted a fun, modern eclectic home with all the best elements of indoor-outdoor living. This project was an extensive rebuild inside and out. We created a modern exterior façade with interesting materials and a mix of textures. The interior includes a junior ADU for friends and family, indoor-outdoor flow, a luxury chef’s kitchen with a pass-through to the outdoor dining and BBQ area, and plenty of natural light and spatial connection. The design is inspired by a chic boutique hotel aesthetic and blends natural materials and midcentury elements, with bold pops of color and patterned wallpaper. Our client was passionate about using materials and products from women-owned businesses, which are showcased throughout the home. A show stopping feature is the extra-long slide-fold door that allows the entire back of the house to open up to the backyard. Both the living and kitchen areas expand to the outdoor grill and pool creating the ultimate indoor-outdoor living experience.
